stuff that is happening

the internets keep burbling up interesting things. no matter how much hunter s. wants me to, i don’t get that enthralled by horseracing. big brown pulling ahead in the preakness was just about the most impressive thing ive seen from the sport, but this photo series from the infield almost has it beat. speaking of photos, i love this nightlife’s photog’s outlook on the best time to shoot,

“that hour between 3 and 4 in the morning when desperation sets in, when you see all the anticipation of going out starting to fade. The masks drop and everybody realizes the night is not going to be everything they were hoping for.”

who knew gawker workers had feelings? more pics: i know people dress up to go to concerts, but all of these people seem a little much. musicians can only be idolized so much. across the internet i’ve seen these photo’s of a wedding before and during the recent chines earthquake. its chilling, the extremes. 33 guests are missing, it is believed.

in other news, john mccain actually had a good idea, in theory. i dont know if american politicians routinely debating can actually work, but more accountability is always good. and Prime Minister’s Questions is just awesome.  ive made (or imagine) enough mixtapes in my life to love the collective story-letting of mixtapes and exes.  also, i love the myth-stories of the perfect circle in art history, and this drawing just adds to the mystique of it all.
