political goings and comings
instead of just looking at old pictures of her, i should actually think about the recent events in the democratic primary. since im still only half here, ill go with a half hearted thinkabout, mostly coming from slate.
i hate clintonian triangulation with a passion. i feel like the 90s created a cult of personality that resulted in nothing for the democratic party. to look at the previous two term president, Reagan, an entire generation of conservatives were born and bred in his years. clinton did nothing of the sort, and i even tallied something of a protest vote in my primary for obama’s early leanings toward a similar goal. i still hold that same fear for the future, but a death of triangulation will always make me a little happy in my naive and idealistic heart. hillary might not have been the master of clintonism, but she was still busy dying a slow death in between the aisles, with no personality keeping her afloat.
now the talk of veep will undoubtedly take over the media (along with a fierce cojones battle). ive been a fan of brian schweitzer thanks to my former days in the echo chamber of political blogs, and find it interesting his name just got tossed in, but i doubt it. experience seems to be the calling card, and richardson still seems to fit the bill. but what do i know, im not an insider. wonder how long this’ll take…
